EMT Refresher Course

We offer a 24 hour based class for Basics, 36 hour based class for Intermediates and 32 hour based class for Paramedics.  This meets the requirements of the Southern Nevada Health District and fulfills requirements for the Mandatory Core Content and Flexible Core Content for NREMT Re-Registration.  (The remaining hours of your 72 hour requirement for NREMT are obtained through ACLS, ITLS, AMLS, PALS, online hours, etc.)

ACLS - Advanced Care Life Support

This intensive course is a must for all advanced level providers practicing pre-hospital care, nursing, and at the physician level.  We offer both Recertification and Initial Classes.  For recertification applicant must provide proof of current ACLS card.

An AHA book and completion of Pretest is required for both classes.  Books are an additional $35.00 if you purchase them through MedicWest Ambulance.

Pre-Registration is required one week prior to the class.  Initial classes will be cancelled and people notified if less then 5 people are enrolled one week prior to the start of the class.

Critical Care Paramedic Program

The UNSOM/NCTI Las Vegas course is 116 hours of intensive instruction divided over 3 weeks and is approved through CECBEMS.  The course covers a wide range of topics and includes two clinical days and a cadaver lab.  This program was developed by nationally renowned EMS author and physician Dr. Bryan Bledsoe, and Larry Johnson, Clinical Manager and CCT-P for AMR/MWA Las Vegas.  This program is being presented by NCTI Las Vegas in conjunction with the University of Nevada School of Medicine.  The program is endorsed by the International Association of Flight Paramedics and students are eligible to take the board certification exam for critical care paramedics upon completion.

ITLS - International Trauma Life Support

ITLS is accepted internationally as the standard training course for pre-hospital trauma care.  This course combines classroom learning and hands-on skill stations.  Scenario assessment stations enable you to put your learning to work in simulated trauma situations.  ITLS empowers EMS personnel with the knowledge and skills to provide optimal care for the injuried in the pre-hospital setting.
